Free Workouts! Misty Totzke Essential Oils Coach

When I think about working out to a video, I often have flashbacks to ‘Sweatin To The Oldies’ with my mom in our living room when I was a kid… ok, and maybe I did it a few times without my mom too. I was a chubby kid what can I say?

As I’ve grown older though, one thing that has also gone out the window with Richard Simmons is my knack for doing the same workout(s) all the time. They get old, I get bored and then I quit. Not long ago I tried changing the game up for myself – I tried everything from a gym membership to throwing all my workout DVD’s in a pile and picking one each workout day. I noticed I still got bored and what was even worse, I stopped making time for even the simplest workout. I mean seriously, who has time to do 90 minutes of yoga at home?! Do you know how loud and distracting a house can be??

Then I found it. YouTube. I rediscovered my love affair with YouTube. Oh how I loved to have all these free workouts right at my fingertips, and what was better – you could even search for things like “10 minute total body workout” when you’re in a pinch on time. It’s been my go-to selection for workouts even on the laziest or busiest of days, and here’s the best part – those 10 minute workouts can really kick your ass!

I wanted to introduce you to a few channels that have become my go-to’s (mostly because they always popped up in my searches lol) so that you might find something that works better for your lifestyle too!

The Fitness Marshall

Don’t forget to use your oils! Here are my favorite essential oil suggestions for pre and post workout routines!

Pre-Workout Prep

Lifelong Vitality Pack

This supplement pack is the real deal that delivers whole food nutrients, 3-6-9 omegas from filtered fish sources, 9 daily essential oils to help with everything from inflammation to mood, land-based inflammation fighters like turmeric and a mitochondrial rebuild complex for natural energy. This supplement pack gives you OPTIMAL doses of nutrition throughout the course of the entire day (in fact, thank you for reminding me, I need to go take my own supplements! LLV to the rescue!)

Slim and Sassy Metabolic Blend (guys, don’t shy away because of the name!)

This blend was specifically created to support a healthy metabolism all day long! This blend is great for weight, but also helps to regulate hormones and hormone balance. Our bodies are so smart that when it encounters a toxin, to protect our bodies from the toxin it will wrap a fat cell around it, which is all “yay body!” but it is a double-edged sword because our bodies store more fat cells than necessary. Slim and Sassy helps separate toxins from fat cells by cleansing toxins in the body.

Mito2Max

This is a great supplement for those of us that would love a little energy boost pre-workout! Some use this supplement every day for a demanding lifestyle, and others use it when they need a little more energy to get through a workout.

Peppermint

Peppermint is such an amazing oil in general, but it’s a really great tool to use for working out for respiratory support. Some great go-to ways to use peppermint for workouts is to use 2 drops topically on the back of the neck or by putting a drop in your hands and cupping them over your nose and mouth and inhaling, these methods will really help to wake the body up for a morning workout! Peppermint can also improve performance, help to maintain an already healthy blood pressure and improves acuity. Peppermint is also a distance-runner’s best friend! Use peppermint especially nearing the middle to end of your distance run to help support your respiratory system.

Wild Orange

Wild Orange is an amazing essential oil to be able to use by itself or in addition to peppermint. Wild Orange helps to increase alertness and motivation and helps to combat exhaustion. A great way to use Wild Orange for these things is to inhale the aroma directly from the hands.

Breathe Respiratory Blend

Breathe is an amazing blend because well, it helps you breathe and who doesn’t like to breathe?! But seriously, Breathe is an amazing companion for people who like to workout out side where the seasonal threats could be high or who deal with any kind of congestion or are just in need of some additional respiratory support.

TriEase Seasonal Softgels

TriEase is an amazing blend of doTERRA’s Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint essential oils in a ready-to-take gelcap form. It’s a great supportive tool to have on hand when seasonal threats are high.

OnGuard Protective Blend

One of the biggest reasons we get sick is a lack of sleep. Sometimes it results from a busy day and the inability to turn our minds off or anticipation for something big coming the next day (like a big race or a really exciting workout!) When our bodies don’t get enough sleep, it takes its toll on our immune system, and we all know what could happen when the immune system gets run down. Achooo cough cough *blow your nose* Why not use OnGuard? OnGuard is really amazing as a daily tool to help your immune system fight free radicals in the body. If you’re already feeling a little off, you might want to try the OnGuard+ Softgels!

Post-Workout Recovery

Deep Blue Soothing Blend oil

Deep Blue primarily assists in the recovery of sore muscles and joints either after a really tough workout, or even before your workout if you’re sore from your previous workout! The convenience and effectiveness of Deep Blue makes it a staple in anyone’s gym bag.

Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex

Different than the essential oil blend, the Deep Blue Polyphenol Complex is best to use when you have that “internal” soreness feeling from your muscles or joints. This is a great supplement to get inside your body and help from the inside out.

Lemongrass

As a cousin to the Deep Blue Soothing Blend, lemongrass can be another oil in your arsenal to combat that post-workout soreness. Just be careful with citrus oils, they can cause sun sensitivity – so this isn’t a great oil to use topically if you’re headed outside!

PastTense Tension Blend

Just like the name says, PastTense is really great for relieving tension in the neck, shoulders, head, etc.

Lavender

Talk about a catch-all oil! We could sit here and talk all day about the benefits of lavender, but for now because we’re talking about workouts we’ll just say that it’s an incredible oil to use the night before big events to help promote a restful night’s sleep. Heck, it’s a great oil to use at night even if you don’t have a big event the next day! Anytime you’re having some issues relaxing and/or falling asleep, grab your lavender. It’s also a great oil to use for skin irritations!

Frankincense

Frankincense is another one of those catch-all oils, it’s so amazing to help promote cellular vitality, clearer cognitive function and calming of the nerves. Some people swear by putting a drop of doTERRA’s Frankincense on their thumb and pressing it to the roof of their mouth!

Melaleuca

Melaleuca (also known as Tea Tree) is a companion oil to lavender when it comes to skin irritations! Those weight-grips don’t have a chance now!! Keep lavender and melaleuca handy just in case you ever uhh…. fall off your bike. Or skateboard. Or whatever else you’re riding that has wheels that you could possibly fall off of and hurt yourself lol

Correct-X Ointment

Rounding out the skin irritation section is the Correct-X ointment that can be super beneficial for helping soothe skin irritations!
