3 jars of honey with herbs inside

Last week in our virtual home remedy DIY-along we made elderberry syrup together, and while we talked about all the ingredients extensively, one ingredient we highlighted was the one that made the elderberry … sweet. Even though honey is traditionally used as a sweetener, did you know that it also contains an amazing profile of other medicinal benefits? It’s true! Below is a compilation from medicalmedium.com on the benefits of raw honey. Please be forewarned though, not all honey is created equal. Just like any other medicinal products and food, you really need to watch where what you’re buying as there is a lot of crap on the market. There should only be one ingredient in honey – and that’s honey! Bees make honey, there isn’t any reason for their to be anything additional added (unless that was the intention of the product you’re looking at). Please watch your ingredients and whenever possible, research a local beekeeper and consider supporting them and their hives!

If you can imagine, these are just some of the benefits of raw honey, there are other bee products that are just as amazing (take a peek at using bee pollen, super cool stuff!!). One of my favorite ways to get the benefits of medicinal raw honey is to use a teaspoon or so in my tea at night – tea with honey is SO yummy!!

Join us for our next virtual DIY-along in February where we’ll embrace the month of love by making our own rose water! You can register here (it’s free!). Can’t wait to see you there!
