2015/01/img_4770.jpg My food advice today is KEEP IT SIMPLE! We all sometimes tend to overthink meals (very guilty of this myself), but if you’re eating good whole foods, who cares what it looks like?! Who cares if it has 3 or 30 ingredients?! Sometimes you’re just hungry and don’t have the time to find a recipe or really think it through. So here’s what I want you to do next time you run into this spot – I want you to get a little creative and HAVE FUN:

– Go to your fridge/freezer and take a good long hard look

– Pick out the first thing that jumps out at you

– Plan the entire meal around that one thing

A couple things to take into consideration though – make sure it’s something that is a whole food, and by whole food I mean broccoli, chicken, something that doesn’t have any ingredients in it and wasn’t from a package. Second, and this one is a hard one for me, you can’t plan your meal around chocolate or dessert. I love dessert as much as someone else, and while you most certainly can plan your dessert this way, when you’re talking about your meals let’s stick to the non-exciting stuff like the broccoli and chicken I mentioned 😉

And last, when you’re making your meal make sure you put LOTS of color and veggies into it! The better part of half of your plate should ideally be filled with veggies =) When you do this, I want you to take a picture and I want you to post it to my Facebook page because I want to see what you came up with!
